• ⚠️ Age-Restricted Content: You must verify your age to access Mature (17+) or Adults Only (18+) content.
🌍 INTERNATIONAL USERS & DEVELOPERS

For Players (All Countries):
• You can browse and purchase games from anywhere in the world.
• Prices are in USD. Your bank may charge currency conversion fees.
• Digital goods are delivered instantly upon successful payment.
• EU/UK Users: You have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content that hasn't been downloaded or accessed.
• To exercise your right of withdrawal, contact support within 14 days of purchase BEFORE downloading.

For Developers (Supported Countries Only):
• To receive payouts, you must reside in a Stripe Connect supported country.
• Supported countries include: USA, Canada, Australia, UK, and 40+ other countries.
• International developers may need to provide a W-8BEN tax form to avoid US tax withholding.
• You are responsible for taxes in your country of residence.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Slip Studios Games ("Slip Studios", "we", "us", "our"), including but not limited to purchasing games, submitting games as a developer, using messaging features, posting reviews, or accessing any content on our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our platform.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users between the ages of 13 and 18 must have parental consent to use our platform. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it promptly.

We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content at our sole discretion.

3. Purchases, Payments, and Refunds

When you purchase a game, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and play the game for personal, non-commercial use.

⚠️ REFUND POLICY: All sales of digital games, Steam keys, and publishing credits are final. Due to the immutable nature of digital content delivery, we do not offer refunds for change of mind. However, if you did not receive your game download link or Steam key within 1 hour of a successful payment, please contact support within 14 days of purchase, and we will investigate. Refunds for non-delivery are issued at our sole discretion after verification.
🇪🇺 EU/UK Right of Withdrawal: If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. However, you acknowledge and agree that by clicking "Buy Now" and proceeding with the download or receiving your Steam key, you expressly request immediate performance of the contract and waive your right of withdrawal. If you have not downloaded the game or accessed your Steam key, you may request a withdrawal within 14 days by contacting support.

Chargebacks initiated without first contacting our support team may result in immediate account suspension and legal action to recover chargeback fees and associated costs.

Payment Processing Fees: Payment processing fees (including Stripe fees of approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) are deducted from the total transaction amount before revenue is distributed. Both players and developers acknowledge these fees.

4. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

  • Resell, distribute, or transfer any Steam keys or game licenses obtained through Slip Studios to any third party (including listing on marketplaces like G2A, Kinguin, eBay).
  • Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to harvest Steam keys or game data.
  • Post false, defamatory, misleading, or abusive content in reviews, messages, or forums.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Attempt to bypass age-restriction gates or provide false age information.
  • Use the platform for any illegal activity or to violate any applicable laws.
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or content that could harm our platform or users.

Violation of this clause results in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all game licenses and unpaid earnings.

5. Reviews and Community Content

Users may post reviews of games they have purchased. Reviews must be honest, constructive, and not contain hate speech, harassment, or false information. We reserve the right to remove any review at our discretion. Reviews may be used to calculate average ratings displayed on game pages.

6. Messaging System

Our messaging feature allows users to communicate with developers and administrators. You agree not to use messaging for spam, harassment, or any prohibited activity. Administrators may monitor messages to enforce these Terms. Users can block other users and disable incoming messages in their privacy settings.

7. Developer Terms, Fees, and Payouts

7.1 Publishing Credits

Game developers must purchase Publishing Credits ($50 USD each) to create a game. Each credit allows creation of one game. Credits are non-refundable and do not expire. Drafts, edits, and submissions are free after creation.

7.2 Revenue Share and Payment Processing Fees

For each game sale, the revenue is distributed as follows:

  • Platform Fee: 10% of the sale price (retained by Slip Studios)
  • Payment Processing Fee: Approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (charged by Stripe and deducted from the sale)
  • Developer Earnings: The remaining amount (approximately 87.1% of the sale price minus $0.30)

Example Calculation: For a $10.00 game:
Platform Fee: $1.00
Stripe Fee: ~$0.59 ($0.29 + $0.30)
Developer Earns: ~$8.41 (84.1% of sale price)

7.3 Payout Hold Policy

Slip Studios reserves the right to temporarily withhold developer payouts for a period of up to 90 days from the date of sale to cover potential refunds, chargebacks, or disputes initiated by the buyer. The platform serves as the primary point of contact for all financial disputes. Funds will be released after the hold period or once the dispute risk has passed.

7.4 Stripe Connect Requirements

Developers must connect a verified Stripe Connect account to receive payouts. Payouts are processed in accordance with Stripe's terms. Developers are responsible for providing accurate tax and banking information.

🌍 International Developer Requirements:
• Stripe Connect is available in 40+ countries (see list below).
• Non-US developers may need to provide a W-8BEN tax form to avoid 30% US tax withholding.
• You are solely responsible for taxes in your country of residence.
• Payouts are processed in USD; your bank may apply currency conversion fees.

7.5 Tax Responsibility

Developers are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes owed on income received from Slip Studios. Slip Studios may be required to issue tax forms (such as 1099-K in the US) to developers who meet certain earnings thresholds. You agree to provide accurate tax information when requested.

7.6 Steam Key Compliance

If you sell Steam keys through our platform, you agree to:

  • Price Parity: Not sell Steam keys on Slip Studios at a lower price than on Steam, unless offering Steam customers a comparable discount.
  • No Beta Key Sales: Only sell "Default Release" keys. Release State Override (Beta/Alpha) keys are strictly prohibited for commercial sale.
  • Inventory Liability: Maintain sufficient key inventory. If keys run out, Slip Studios may pause your game sales and charge you for refunds issued.
  • Indemnification: You agree to indemnify Slip Studios against any claims or losses from Valve banning your Steam keys due to your violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement.

7.7 Game Content Guidelines

All games submitted must not contain illegal content, malware, hate speech, or copyrighted material you do not own. Games with adult content must be properly age-rated using our rating system (Everyone, Teen 13+, Mature 17+, Adults Only 18+).

8. Supported Countries for Developer Payouts

Slip Studios uses Stripe Connect to process developer payouts. Stripe Connect is available in the following countries:

⚠️ For Developers in Unsupported Countries:
If your country is not listed above, you can still:
• Create a developer account and submit games for review ✅
• Build your portfolio and test the platform ✅
• Cannot receive payouts for game sales ❌

We maintain a waitlist for unsupported countries. Contact support to be notified when your country becomes available.

9. Age-Restricted Content

Games may be rated for mature audiences (17+) or adults only (18+). You represent that you are of legal age to access such content. Providing false age information is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination. We may verify age through your date of birth and other means.

10. Support Tickets

Users may submit support tickets for account issues, purchase problems, Steam key issues, or general inquiries. We aim to respond within 24-48 hours. Abuse of the support system (spam, harassment, false reports) may result in account restrictions.

11. Privacy and Data

Your use of our platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. For international users, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

12. Account Deletion and Data Export

Users may request account deletion through the Profile Settings page using a deletion key. Deletion requests are reviewed by our team and processed within a reasonable timeframe. You may also export your account data at any time via the Profile Settings page.

13. Intellectual Property

All content on our platform (excluding games submitted by developers) is owned by Slip Studios or our licensors. Games remain the intellectual property of their respective developers. Developers grant Slip Studios a non-exclusive license to distribute, display, and promote their games on our platform.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for any violation of these Terms. Upon termination, you lose access to purchased games (no refunds will be issued), and unpaid developer earnings may be forfeited if termination is due to violation of these Terms.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLIP STUDIOS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OUR PLATFORM. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Slip Studios, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

18. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or platform notification. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

19. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, held in Salt Lake County, Utah. You waive the right to participate in class-action lawsuits.

🌍 International Dispute Resolution: If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory consumer protection rights under the laws of your country of residence.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
